Strap-on Dildos

Strap on dildos are not new. Actually, they are one of the earliest evidence of the use of sex toys in ancient societies. There are described in writings from ancient China and are mentioned in the Kama Sutra. The early Greeks used them and the early French even had double-penetration dildos. There are 19th century paintings of the strap on dildo in use just as there are clear documentations of its use in Zanzibar at the same period. In fact, as far back as the Stone Age, there are artifacts discovered of what unmistakably are dildos that can be worn.
Over the years, the strap on dildo has changed both in construction and in material. The pleasure it gives, thankfully hasn’t. Strap on dildos are classified either according to the harness with which they are attached or the dildo itself.

Classifications by the dildo include Standard (non-tapered shaft, enlarged penis-like head and slight curved), Probe (narrow, highly tapered and recommended for first-time users), G-spot or Prostrate (curved in body and sharply curved upward at the head so as to stimulate the g-spot in women and the prostate in men), Textured (bulbs, bumps, ribs are found on the length of such types), Vibrating and Rotating (these have rotating beads near the head, wiggling and/or vibrating shafts), Double Penetration (essentially two dildos constructed on a common base and meant for simultaneous anal and vaginal penetration), Extensions (hollow dildos worn over the penis to extend the perceived length) and dildos with special functions.

By harness type, strap on dildos can be classified as two-strap (fashioned like a g-string with one strap around the wearer’s waist and the other going in between the legs, connecting at the lower back), three-strap (one strap around the waist and one strap each around the leg leaving the genitals and anus uncovered), Corsets (or any other piece of lingerie with the dildo attached to the piece of clothing) and dildos strapped onto other body parts apart from the genitals and even on everyday objects.

The materials from which the harnesses in strap on dildos are made differ and can be selected based on convenience and individual preferences. Common materials include leather, cloth, latex, PVC, rubber, plastic and leather-like synthetic materials. Leather is strong, durable and comfortable for most people but can be difficult to clean.

Leather-like synthetic materials retain some of the strength of leather and are just as durable and a lot easier to clean. Cloth harnesses are used to strap on dildos to corsets and other lingerie items; they are inexpensive but are not always suited. Soft plastic harnesses can come in different colors and are quite inexpensive and easy to clean even though less comfortable. Latex harnesses are flexible and elastic but need special care and don’t last as long as other types.

Strap on dildos can also be differentiated by the method of attaching the dildos to the straps. Common configurations include Ring and Wide base: this is the commonest and uses a leather or steel ring to attach a dildo with a wide base. The advantage here is that different dildos of different sizes and constructions can be substituted using the same harness. However, this arrangement can make for loose fittings and may not be suited for special dildo types.

Another attachment method is by vacuum seal: this uses a matching plug to attach the harness to the hollowed base of the dildo. Such strap on dildos are firmly secure but dildo selection is limited. Strapless configuration uses an egg-shaped bulb for the vaginal or anus to hold in the dildo. This can be difficult to master but when found convenient for both partners can make for spontaneous dildo use. A One-piece latex system has the dildo permanently fitted into a molded latex straps. This is simple but can be uncomfortable and the dildo cannot be swapped.

Strap on dildos can be used by women to give anal penetration to men and other women or to give vagina penetration to women. Men can also use them go give women double penetration. The number of ways in which strap on dildos can be used make them eminently important for attaining the best sensual experience.

They free the hands to provide added sensual caresses, leverage the hip thrusts, provide double penetration, extend orgasms, compensate for erectile dysfunction, encourage sensual role-reversals, deepen intimacy between couples and redefine eroticism.

I think strap-ons are nicer than I think. No hassle and this is quite a relief.
